Sandcastles Program - www.sandcastlesprogram.com
This four-hour workshop helps children address feelings they have when their parents are going through a divorce or separation.  Children learn new skills that will help them express their feelings through drawing, writing and talking with peers. Some issues and concepts children examine include: understanding the reality of divorce, recognizing and working through painful feelings, communicating with parents and others and remembering that the child and the family are unique and special.

Individual, couple, family and group counseling services available to residents of the twelve county area of the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis, regardless of religious affiliation or ability to pay. Resource Center for Fathers & Families

Uncoupling Support Groups for Women: Chrysalis

Separated and Divorced Support Group: Caritas Family Services of St. Cloud
A separated/divorced support group for men and women of all faiths is offered Mondays from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Meetings are ongoing. 320-529-0427

Step-Family Support Group

Step-Parenting Course: Resource Center for Fathers and Families
This is a 10-session course, which covers how relationships work, the pitfalls and perils of step-parenting, the rules of engagement, conflict, and working together. 763-783-4938
 
The Shared Parenting Program: Chrysalis
A four-hour workshop for parents going through separation or divorce that focuses on how to effectively help children during this transition. 612-871-0118-option 1 or www.chrysaliswomen.org

Parents Forever
A series of six, 2-hour sessions. Learn how to make informed, child-focused decisions during a divorce, which will lead to healthy children and positive parent-child relationships. This class meets the Minnesota State Supreme Court mandate for divorcing couples. Pre-registration required. Call 651-748-7295

The Co-Parenting Program: Storefront Group
An educational seminar designed to help minimize the negative impact of divorce on children at a time when parents are naturally preoccupied with their own adjustments. This program is approved by the Minnesota Supreme Court as a certified divorce education curriculum. 612-861-1675 or online registration at www.storefront.org. Also call 612-798-8181 to get information about “Co-Parenting Plus,” a program for people who are struggling to develop or maintain a working parenting relationship for the sake of their children.

Support Group for Latina Women

Crisis Nurseries

Women In Transition
Monthly small group workshops for women facing a life change. Topics include: Self assessment/job exploration, job search strategies and self esteem/support groups. 612-752-8444

Displaced Homemakers Program: Career Solutions
Provides services to assist displaced homemakers in starting new careers. Areas covered include identifying skills, sharpening interviewing ability, writing resumes and conducting a job search. 651-647-9961

Mediation/Legal Services

Mediation Center In Affiliation with Hamline University
Mediation assists individuals to communicate and negotiate pre-/post-divorce issues such as custody, child support, spousal maintenance and property settlement. Sliding fee based on income with a one time administrative fee of $50. 651-523-2880

Parents Fair Share: Assisting non-custodial parents who have difficulty paying child support

Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services for Low Income Persons
Free legal services assists with family problems including domestic abuse, some types of divorces, child custody cases and other matters. Interpreters available. 651-222-5863

L.E.A.D./Legal and Economic Aspects of Divorce

Family Law Seminars: Resource Center for Fathers and Families
Hosted by a facilitator and conducted by a family law attorney who advises fathers and mothers about their concerns regarding divorce, paternity, custody, child support and related issues. Held at various sites in the Twin Cities, including Catholic Charities. 763-783-4938

Family Law Clinic: The Men’s Center

Relationship Programs


Marriage Preparation: A Pre-marriage Seminar For Second Marriages

This program assists couples in exploring factors that make a second marriage different from the first marriage. Topics include self knowledge, self disclosure, conflict resolution, intimacy, blended families and growth of spirituality. Groups limited to 15 couples. Couple participants must pre-register by calling Catholic Charities at 651-647-3126.

Marriage Encounter
A weekend getaway that helps married couples rediscover themselves as individuals and as a couple. The format aids open and honest communication without group sharing, therapy or marriage counseling. 651-454-3238
