Post Adoption Services provides ethical and helpful resources for adoptive parents, birth parents and adopted adults — the adoption triad — who have experienced adoption through Catholic Charities. Post Adoption provides counseling and information to all members of the adoption triad. Adopted adults can request non-identifying information, such as their medical histories. Birth parents and adopted adults can search for one another through the program and choose their level of contact. A support group gives triad members in the search process an opportunity to speak to others in the same circumstances. The focus on openness in adoption and preparing prospective and adoptive families for this process provides support to all involved.
