Northside Child Development Center
A learning center in North Minneapolis for children ages six weeks - 15 years, Northside provides early education, preschool, school readiness and school reinforcement experiences, all of which combat the developmentally detrimental effects of poverty.
To strengthen the family unit, the center provides family-focused events, parent education, parent support groups and extensive family visiting. Individual family service plans are developed during home visits to identify and respond to barriers that may interfere with parents’ efforts to work and care for their children.
Northside is a contracted Strong Beginnings site in conjunction with Hennepin County. Northside received the top ranking from Parent Aware based on staff training, teaching materials, parent involvement and other factors.
