| FISHAPALOOZA Feeds HundredsIce Fishing Contestants Donate their Catch to the Dorothy Day Center
FISHAPALOOZA, one of the largest ice fishing tournaments in the region, took place at Forest Lake VFW Post 4210 Feb. 27. FISHAPALOOZA participants generously donated the fish they caught to feed people at the Dorothy Day Center in downtown St. Paul. Volunteers, including many from Comcast, cooked and served the fish and venison donated by local hunters during lunch Feb. 28 in a unique partnership with the Sportsman Channel's Hunt.Fish.Feed. initiative.
The crew from "In-Fisherman Ice Fishing Guide" took footage of the tournament and meal preparation for an episode of the show scheduled to air on the Sportsman Channel at the end of March.
Hunt.Fish.Feed. visited the Twin Cities on a 10-city tour to feed people in need and bring awareness to the fight against hunger. Other partners include Comcast and Safari Club International Foundation's Sportsmen Against Hunger.
