Advocacy
The mission of Catholic Charities is to serve those most in need, while calling for justice in the community. Advocacy speaks specifically to the latter part of this mission. Therefore, we encourage our community partners, board members, staff, volunteers and others who are interested in creating lasting change to join us in the work of advocacy to benefit those in need.
Catholic Charities' Office for Social Justice specializes in this area by working with state lawmakers, Catholic parishes and other nonprofit organizations in the greater Twin Cities metropolitan area to advocate for the needs of those living in poverty. Visit the Office for Social Justice's Web site at www.osjspm.org.
Catholic Charities' advocacy work is rooted in our mission, core values and in the moral principles of Catholic Social Teaching. We encourage you to explore these pages further to better understand our advocacy work and the specific legislative priorities that we choose for each session of the State Legislature.
