Tips for Year End Giving

As we prepare for the holidays, we would like to provide you with office hours and year-end giving tips for the remainder of December. We know how important the last few days of the year can be for meeting tax deadlines, and we are here to help make the process seamless for you.



Please note our following hours of operation:

December 24-25:  Catholic Charities will be closed. But if you wish to make a gift on those days, you may make it online through our secure site at www.cctwincities.org/donate. 

December 26-28:  The Catholic Charities Development Office will be open from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. If you would like to make a gift of stock or discuss your year-end gift to Catholic Charities, please contact any of the following people:

December 31:  Normal operation (8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.)

January 1:  Catholic Charities will be closed. 



Don't forget - through December 31 you can access the $200,000 Challenge Match to double your gift's impact. If you are sending a check, please indicate 'challenge match' on the memo line. If making your gift online, please select 'challenge match' in the designation field at www.cctwincities.org/donate.

How to Give Stock to Catholic Charities 
Stockbrokers require written instructions when transferring stock. You will need to give the following delivery information to your broker to make a gift to Catholic Charities:

It is important to notify Catholic Charities when you have requested a stock or mutual fund transfer with your broker to ensure that you receive the appropriate tax credit information. Please contact Mary Butler at 612-204-8365 or mary.butler@cctwincities.org.
 


Helpful Year-End Giving Tips 
Remember, only gifts made by December 31 can help reduce the amount of taxes you owe next April, so you'll need to move swiftly! Please keep the following in mind and consult your tax advisor for specific details. Thank you for your support and have a safe and happy holiday season.



Deadline to Receive 2012 Tax Credit 
- Gifts made by check must be dated and postmarked no later than December 31, 2012.
-Credit card gifts can be made online on or before 11:59 p.m. (EST) on December 31, 2012.
